Ansar was originally founded in the early 2000s by a group of individuals with a common interest in both helping and being responsive to various social and institutional needs within the Washington, DC, area. During this early period, Ansar was involved in and supported various multicultural community Interfaith and related community fund-raising activities.
Since that time, Ansar Services has broadened its focus and programs. As an innovative, community-oriented organization, we are proactively engaged in various workforce and community economic development activities. We work to consciously enrich community life in partnership with other community-oriented and business development organizations.
Our mission is to strengthen and enhance the well-being of our communities through innovative programs and services that address the social and economic needs of primarily underserved communities within the Greater Washington DC region.
We provide workforce and skills development training programs to help address the current and future career challenges faced by many young adults living in primarily underserved communities. Our Urban Center for Community Innovation and Technology (UC2IT)® provides the operational framework for the effective implementation of these programs and services.
The overall goal of UC2IT® is to provide a well-structured environment in which young men and women are encouraged, supported, and effectively guided as they work to reach their human potential; and become high-achieving contributors to their respective professions, communities, and to society.
